The HSE are putting new guidelines in place for metal working fluids as they are prone to bacteria and fungus growth if concentrations of coolant mixtures are not adhered to and good house keeping practices are not implicated. Most machine shops have a bacteria and fungus testing system in place whether implicated by themselves in-house or carried out by external testing facilities which SDTS Engineering Ltd offer as either a routine testing package or a one off test.
The HSE Recommend a testing of bacteria and fungus every 4 weeks or in house testing every week.
We can also supply in house testing packages or offer an on site visit by ourselves to carry out testing and incubation in our in-house Laboratory.
