BENTOLEAD no.4 Oil Plus Oil Sand (for lead casting only)

BENTOLEAD no.4 sand has been specially produced for a cost effective general casting of lead work where detail is not important a special mix of fine sand, processing oils, Catalysts and Bentone binder instead of the Bentonite clay and water as used in traditional green sand.
No steam is generated when the metal is poured. This means that there is a reduced need for venting of the mold and the sand doesn’t need to be as permeable. Therefore a finer mesh of sand is used which results in a finer finish on the cast part. This also means that the sand does not dry out by evaporation.

Please note this product is not recommended for casting other non ferrous materials.
